We're here because there are people in hard to reach villages who feel forgotten, and we believe they’re not. Our work takes us to places where roads end and hope feels far away, to reach the lost with the love of Jesus and practical care that meets real needs. We go because every person matters to God, and every village is worth finding. If you’ve been looking for a way to be part of something that goes where few others will, you’re in the right place. Look around, see what God is doing, and let us know if you feel called to join us.
ETEK is an acronym meaning “Every Tongue Every Knee…” We are rooted in Isaiah 45:22-23 & Philippians 2:8-11.
We are a church planting mission movement dedicated to taking the gospel to the lost around the world especially those in the hard to reach places. We are registered as nonprofit in Uganda but not yet recognized as a 501c3 for USA tax purposes. Based in Iganga District Eastern Uganda East Africa, we have served the Lord since 2009 and are committed to taking the Gospel to the lost around the World especially in the hard-to reach places.
When we started in 2009, we did not have a van.
Not even a bicycle. What we had was a calling, and the stubborn belief that no village was too far if Jesus was sending us.
So we walked. Miles of dusty paths from one village to the next. Through sun, through rain, sometimes sleeping wherever we were welcomed because the next village was still a day’s walk away. We would reach out to the unreached, share the gospel, pray with families who had never heard their name spoken by someone from outside their village.
And then we would walk back — not to be done, but to follow up. To check if the man who said “yes” to Jesus last month was still standing. To sit with the widow who cried with us and see if she had eaten that week. To remind people that saying “yes” wasn’t a moment we forgot.
15 years later, here’s what that slow, walking ministry has built:
Relationships that outlast visits: Because when you arrive on foot and stay for hours, people know you’re not in a hurry to leave them. Some of the faces we met in 2010 still write to us. Children we prayed for then are now leading youth groups. Widows we sat with and wept together, are now the ones encouraging others. The impact isn’t always immediate, but it is real.
A testimony of dependence: We could not rely on a van schedule or a budget. We relied on God to provide strength for the road, open doors in the village, and food for the journey. He never failed.
Communities that know they’re not forgotten: Going back on foot taught us that presence matters more than programs. Sometimes all we could bring was ourselves, and that was enough.
We’re not the same team we were in 2009. But the posture is. We still go where the road ends and the walking begins. We still believe that the unreached are worth every mile.
We’re not the heroes of this story. You are. Every prayer whispered for our safety. Every donation that fed us in the mission. Every message that said “keep going.” This ministry has always been carried by a community wider than our team.
There have been hard years. Years of doubt, exhaustion, and loss. But there hasn’t been a single year where we didn’t see God move in ways we couldn’t plan for.
From 2009 to today, one thing hasn’t changed: the villages still need hope, and Jesus still meets them there. And as long as He calls, we will keep going.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Whether you’ve been here since year one or just joined this month — you matter to this story.
